Are you ready for a night of fun and philanthropy? Mark your calendars for “A Date 2 Remember,” an annual benefit put on by the Columbus Young Professionals Club!
Described as part date auction, part fashion show and all for charity, the CYP Club combines local entertainment, food and fashion in order to raise funds for two charities in the Columbus area. The event has raised more than $150,000 for non-profit organizations over its history. City Year Columbus is honored to be one of this year’s benefitting organizations, along with United Way.
Named ‘Best Charity Event in Central Ohio’ in 2010 by Columbus CEO Magazine, “A Date 2 Remember” includes a range of activities, such as a cocktail hour featuring food and drinks from some of Columbus’ best eateries, a fashion show highlighting clothing from local stores and boutiques and an after-party. The main event is the live date auction, but instead of bidding on a person, you would bid on the actual date!
“A Date 2 Remember” auctions several exciting and unique date packages from sponsors in the Columbus area. Past packages that have been offered include wine tastings, Flying Trapeze classes, a day at the spa, and tailgating before attending an Ohio State football game. Each date experience package is represented during the fashion show by one or two appointed young professional ambassadors, also known as “bachelors,” “bachelorettes,” and “couples.” After the final bid for a date experience package is cast, the auction winner has the option of either going on a date with the package ambassador, or inviting others to participate in the date.
The event will be held on February 23, 2013 at the LC Pavilion. Tickets can be ordered online for $35 or bought at the door for $45.
